NFH Ambassadors Congratulate Newly Elected IYC President, Council Executives Over Victory

The Nigeria Face of Hope Ambassadors, Master Eze Tido Isaac and Miss Rejoice Onyemaechi have congratulated the newly elected president of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC Deacon Peter Timothy Igbifa and other elected executive members of the council over their victory in the just concluded elections. It added that expectations are high, so the new executive council should hit the ground running in the interest of Ijaw land and Niger Delta region.

The Ambassadors stated that the maturity displayed by contestants before, during and after the conduct of the general elections “symbolizes brotherhood, unity of purpose and love”. They called on the Igbifa led executive council to be magnanimous in victory by extending a hand of fellowship to other fellow contestants in a bid to accommodate all interests and encourage oneness in Ijaw nation.

In a statement signed by Mr. Fejiro Richard, Public Relations Officer of Hauz of Elnathan Initiative and made available to our correspondent, the NFH Ambassadors said their organization is willing to partner with the IYC to promote and enhance the campaigns against drug and substance abuse among youths in Ijaw nation and Niger Delta.

“We congratulate the newly elected president of Ijaw Youth Council, Dcn Peter Igbifa and the entire executive council on their victorious emergence in the just concluded IYC elections.

“We appreciate the high level of maturity that was displayed over the conduct of the elections and the cooperation of all contestants. This symbolizes brotherhood, unity and love.

“We pray for the grace of the Almighty God to encompass your reign to actualize the positive, progressive, and developmental agenda of the IYC and Niger Delta,” the statement said.

The Ambassadors also said that the IYC has been a critical voice and stakeholder in drawing the attention of the federal government, interventionist agencies and multinational crude oil companies to the plights and poor state of development in the creeks of Ijaw nation and the entire Niger Delta region. It however, added that it will be a good thing if the IYC also look at the growing involvement of youths and adolescents in drug abuse in the region with a bid to reducing the menace.

“On the area of drugs and substance abuse, we look forward to partnering with you to promote and enhance the awareness campaigns against drug misuse among adolescents and youths within the Ijaw nation given the rapid increase of youths and adolescents indulging in this harmful practices that has destroyed lots of promising destinies.”

The Nigeria Face of Hope, NFH is an arm of Hauz of Elnathan Initiative (HEI) that is championing the campaigns against drug and substance abuse among adolescents and youths in Nigeria for the betterment of the society. HEI is a youth led nonprofit organization with the drive of enhancing the development of youths and younger generations towards becoming societal drivers of positive change.
